ABOUT COMMISSIONS
INDIVIDUAL COMMISSIONS
Have an idea for a custom metal piece? Looking for a unique gift, a display piece, or just something shiny and cool to call your own? Monash Forge is here to help turn your ideas into reality.
Our team specialises in a range of metalworking processes, combining traditional techniques with modern experimentation to create one-of-a-kind items. We primarily work with aluminium and bronze, but we’re always open to exploring other metals depending on your project needs.
We’ve worked on everything from decorative art pieces and event trophies to functional hardware and custom components. Whether you’ve got a fully formed design or just a rough idea, we can assist you through the process — from material selection and design considerations to manufacturing and finishing.
As a student-run team, we’re always looking for creative projects that challenge our skills and expand what we’re capable of producing. Every commission helps us learn and improve — while delivering a product that’s truly personal and locally made.
If you’ve got an idea, big or small, we’d love to chat and see how we can bring it to life.
STUDENT TEAM COMMISSIONS
As part of the Monash engineering community, we’re proud to offer our manufacturing and metalworking services to support other student teams across campus.
Our foundry team specialises in aluminium casting and may also be able to work with copper or copper alloys depending on material availability. This is ideal for producing custom mechanical parts, prototypes, or decorative elements tailored to your project needs.
In addition, our forge section focuses on shaping and working with metal to create components, hardware, signage, or display pieces — perfect for adding a unique, hand-crafted touch to your project or team branding.
We’re always open to exploring other manufacturing methods or materials outside of our core processes. However, these will require further discussion to assess feasibility based on available resources, equipment, and safety considerations.
If you’ve got a project in mind, we’d love to work with you — reach out and we’ll see what’s possible!
